Old vs New Switch: What Nintendo didn’t tell you

There’s more differences in the New Nintendo Switch than just battery.

The screen is brighter, the joycons are different, as well as some other details. See what’s new in the new Nintendo Switch!

What improvements have been made to the Joy-Con controller analog sticks in the V2 version?

Nintendo, one of the biggest game console manufacturers that has been rocking the gaming industry for decades. In March of 2017, they surprised the world with the release of the Nintendo Switch, offering gamers the opportunity to play games on the go or on their TV sets at home. The release of the new Switch came as a relief to many gamers as it promised better graphics, a better processor, and overall more power.

However, as is often the case with new technology, there are trade-offs that come with the Switch’s improved performance. The new version of the Switch had been released with little to no warning, leaving little time for consumers to assess the differences between the two versions before making a purchase. In this article, we will cover some of the things Nintendo did not tell us about the old and new Switch, in order to help you make a more informed decision when it comes to your gaming experience.

First and foremost, the new Switch, known as the Nintendo Switch V2, seems to have resolved some of the problems of its predecessor. Specifically, there have been issues with the battery life of the initial Switch, which could not last as long as most gaming sessions. In contrast, the Switch V2 has a larger battery that lasts up to nine hours, ensuring that gamers can play their favorite games for more extended periods.

Another big difference between the two models is that the V2 version is equipped with a more efficient and more sustainable chipset. It is reported that the new CPU will allow games to run more smoothly, improve battery life, and enhance image quality. This is due to the fact that the V2 uses the same CPU as Nintendo’s hand-held-only Switch Lite, allowing for up to 40 percent higher battery life.

However, the new Switch is not an overhaul of the previous version. The most significant difference between the two is that the Joy-Cons that come with the new version of the Switch have been improved. The initial Switch had problems with the Joy-Con controller analog sticks, which stuck and moved in directions users didn’t intend. As a result, Nintendo redesigned the Joy-Cons’ analog sticks and added a resistant coating to them. This slight adjustment may not be enough to sway users who have invested in additional Joy-Con controllers, but it is welcomed by those who frequently use the Joy-Con controllers that come with the console.

In conclusion, the Nintendo Switch V2 is not an entirely new console, but more of a slight revision to the initial console. If you are a casual gamer who is not overly concerned with the technical specifications and mainly wants to play games, the original Switch may be sufficient. However, if you are heavily invested in gaming and want an enhanced gaming experience, it may be worth investing in the Switch V2. Keep in mind that both versions are still viable and functional game consoles. Ultimately the decision between the two boils down to a matter of personal preferences and budget constraints.
