On June 13th, 2021, Microsoft held its annual Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, unveiling an exciting array of upcoming games and updates for Xbox fans worldwide. The showcase was held entirely online due to the ongoing pandemic and hosted by Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller and Golden Globe-nominated actress, Aisha Tyler.

The event opened with Todd Howard, the Executive Producer at Bethesda Game Studios, welcoming fans and sharing his excitement for the future of gaming with Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda. Following that, a trailer for the highly anticipated sci-fi game Starfield was revealed, giving gamers a glimpse into its beautiful, futuristic world.

Next up was a trailer for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, showcasing its immersive gameplay with its hauntingly beautiful graphics. The debut trailer for Back 4 Blood featured cooperative gameplay, where players fought against zombies in a grim post-apocalyptic world. Another trailer for Atomic Heart showcased a unique FPS experience with breathtaking visuals and strange robotic creatures.

Fans of the popular Fallout series were in for a treat as the showcase revealed gameplay for Fallout 76’s latest update, “Steel Reign.” The update features new quests, locations, and gear, which was followed by a trailer for Elder Scrolls Online showcasing the expansion “Gates of Oblivion.”

The showcase also announced the new game from Avalanche Studios, “Contraband,” a co-op open-world game set in a fictional world filled with smugglers and treasure hunters. The action-packed trailer for Hades featured gameplay for its upcoming Xbox release. Additionally, the show revealed multiplayer sneak-em-up game “Deathloop,” published by Bethesda.

One of the most exciting updates from the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase was for Halo Infinite, showcasing its quadruple-A graphics, gameplay, and story with a thrilling trailer. The new addition, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer, is now free-to-play and will run at 120 frames per second on the Xbox Series X and will feature no pay-to-win options.

The showcase concluded with the announcement of the latest Forza Horizon game, Forza Horizon 5, which is set in the stunning Mexican landscape. Fans of the racing game can expect a more thrilling and realistic gaming experience with its impressive 4K graphics and ray tracing technology.

The Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase was a massive success, providing a wide range of games, updates, and announcements. It demonstrated the exciting future of gaming, assuring fans that they had much to look forward to in the coming months. Ultimately, the showcase demonstrated Microsoft’s commitment to providing the gaming community with remarkable gaming experiences that are visually stunning, immersive, and engaging.
