This Bus Is Bringing People Back.. I Followed It and I Regret Everything – BEWARE
A rusted bus rolls through the fog, and IGP decides to chase it anyway.
Horror gaming YouTuber IGP is back in BEWARE, the driving survival horror project from solo developer Ondrej Svadlena, working through an updated demo build that adds fresh corners to an already unsettling map. The premise is simple and brutal: something is moving people through this dead rural stretch on an old bus, and IGP decides the only sane move is to follow it into the fog. What he finds instead is a demo that has quietly gotten a lot meaner since the last build.
- IGP tracks an in-game bus moving through fog-choked backroads and an abandoned town in an updated BEWARE demo build.
- The build introduces aggressive, pursuit-driven enemy vehicles and sinister humanoid figures that actively hunt the player’s car.
- BEWARE is developed solo by Ondrej Svadlena and centers gameplay around driving, navigation, and survival rather than on-foot combat.
Following the Bus Into the Dark
BEWARE drops the player behind the wheel with no map marker telling them where safety is, just headlights cutting through mist and the sound of an engine that isn’t their own somewhere ahead. In this session, IGP spots the titular bus rumbling toward the abandoned town and makes the call to trail it rather than avoid it — a decision the game punishes almost immediately. The road narrows, the fog thickens, and the vehicle IGP is chasing starts behaving less like transportation and more like bait.
That’s the trick of BEWARE’s design: it never confirms what the bus actually is. It just keeps moving, keeps drawing the player deeper into terrain the demo clearly wants them to avoid, and lets dread do the rest of the work instead of jump-scare scripting.
The Abandoned Town’s New Layout
Svadlena’s updated build expands the derelict town IGP explores on foot and by car, with more structures to investigate and more sightlines for whatever is stalking the streets to use against the player. Compared to the earlier demo, the layout feels denser — more alleys, more dead ends, more places for a pursuing vehicle to box someone in. IGP spends a chunk of the video simply trying to keep his bearings once he’s off the main road and into the town’s grid, which is exactly the kind of disorientation this genre of driving-horror survival game is built to produce.
Aggressive AI Changes the Rules
The biggest shift in this build is the enemy AI. Rather than static threats or scripted encounters, IGP runs into vehicles that actively pursue his car through the dark, forcing him into evasive driving instead of the slower, exploratory pace the demo previously allowed. Sinister figures also show up on foot near the town’s edges, adding a second layer of threat that punishes anyone who gets out of their car to explore too casually.
The bus never stops for him — it just keeps leading him somewhere he probably shouldn’t go.
That pursuit-driven AI is the clearest sign Svadlena is pushing BEWARE toward tenser, more reactive gameplay rather than a pure walking-sim scare. It changes how a player has to treat the car itself — not just as a way to get around the map, but as the thing standing between them and whatever is hunting them.
BEWARE’s Status Among Driving Horror Games
BEWARE is still an early demo project, but the direction it’s taking — isolated roads, fog, a vehicle you can’t fully trust, and AI that hunts rather than waits — puts it in the same lane as other survival-driving titles that have found an audience through exactly this kind of first-look gameplay coverage. Fans of games that blend exploration dread with vehicle-based survival, in the vein of the mechanics covered in the SnowRunner Review, will recognize the appeal of a game that makes the drive itself the tension, not just what’s waiting at the destination. It’s also the kind of small-team horror experiment that tends to surface in roundups like Top 10 BEST NEW Indie Games of April 2020, where scrappy, single-developer projects get their first real spotlight.
IGP doesn’t find out what’s really on that bus by the end of the video — the demo cuts him loose in the fog with more questions than answers, which is clearly the point Svadlena is building toward as BEWARE keeps expanding. Whatever the next build adds, it’s a safe bet that bus is still out there, and IGP will probably follow it again.
