Today I wanted to give my honest thoughts and impressions on Death Stranding so far. This isn’t a review as I still have a long way to go before completing the game but I still wanted to go over what I think of my experience so far. Death Stranding is easily the most divisive game of the year and people have very strong opinions about it, I am no different.

I knew going into this PS4 title that it was going to be different from most games I’ve played but as a big fan of the Metal Gear Solid series I had high hopes. Does Hideo Kojima’s latest game live up to my expectations?

What makes the characters in Death Stranding unique and memorable?

As a dedicated video game enthusiast, I have long been eagerly anticipating the release of Hideo Kojima’s latest creation, Death Stranding. Now that the game is officially out, I am pleased to say that it has exceeded my expectations in many ways.

From the very beginning, Death Stranding establishes a uniquely gripping atmosphere that keeps the player engaged throughout the entire experience. It manages to capture the eerie, apocalyptic feel of a world on the brink of collapse, while also weaving in just enough mystery and intrigue to keep players guessing.

One of the main elements that sets Death Stranding apart from other games is its focus on resource management and traversal. The game takes place in a vast, open world that is both beautiful and dangerous in equal measure. Players are tasked with delivering important packages across this expansive landscape, using a variety of tools and equipment that must be carefully managed and maintained.

This core gameplay loop is surprisingly addictive, and it’s incredibly rewarding to overcome the many obstacles that stand in your way. Whether you’re navigating treacherous terrain, outsmarting ruthless enemies, or simply struggling to keep your cargo intact, Death Stranding manages to make even the most mundane tasks feel incredibly compelling.

Of course, no discussion of Death Stranding would be complete without mentioning its incredible cast of characters. From the enigmatic protagonist Sam Bridges to the eccentric scientist Deadman, every character in the game is brought to life with incredible detail and nuance. The acting and voice work is top-notch, and the writing is some of the best I’ve seen in any game.

All that said, there are a few small issues with Death Stranding that prevent it from being a flawless masterpiece. Some of the gameplay mechanics can be a bit clunky at times, particularly when it comes to navigating complicated terrain or dealing with enemy encounters. Additionally, the story can be somewhat convoluted and difficult to follow at times, which might turn off some players.

Overall, I would say that Death Stranding is a truly unique and remarkable experience that any fan of video games should check out. While it may not be perfect, it is without a doubt one of the most ambitious and daring games of the year, and it’s sure to leave a lasting impression on anyone who gives it a chance.
