Fire Emblem: Three Houses Gameplay – Nintendo Treehouse: Live | E3 2019

The Fire Emblem franchise has been a favorite among gamers for years, and with the release of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, fans have been eagerly awaiting any news on the upcoming game. At the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2019, Nintendo revealed new gameplay footage of the game during their Treehouse Live event. Let’s take a closer look at what was shown.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses takes place in the world of Fódlan, where three major powers, the Adrestian Empire, the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, and the Leicester Alliance, battle for dominance. The player takes control of a mysterious mercenary who is hired by the Church of Seiros and becomes a professor at the Officers Academy, a prestigious school that teaches young students about the art of war.

During the gameplay footage, the Treehouse team demonstrated a few of the game’s mechanics. First and foremost, players have the opportunity to explore the Officers Academy for themselves. During exploration, players are able to interact with the students and staff of the Academy and build relationships with them, which will help in battles later on. There is also a fishing mini-game where players can catch different types of fish to cook and share with their students.

When not exploring, the game switches to a tactical RPG mode where players battle enemy forces. The Treehouse team showed off one such battle, which involved leading a group of students into battle against bandits. The game features a new mechanic called Battalions, where groups of soldiers are assigned to each character, giving them special abilities and bonuses during battle. The game also features a new system called Divine Pulse, which allows players to rewind time and redo their moves during battle.

Overall, the gameplay footage shown during the Treehouse Live event for Fire Emblem: Three Houses has given fans a lot to look forward to. The ability to explore the Academy and build relationships with students and staff seems like an exciting addition to the franchise, and the updated battle mechanics could make for some interesting gameplay. With a release date of July 26, 2019, Fire Emblem: Three Houses is definitely a game to watch out for.
