Many of you have pointed out to me that ever since user scores went live on metacritic, Death Stranding is being review bombed. I thought maybe it wasn’t as bad as some were making is sound but I checked for myself and it is just sad. It’s like people are going out of their way to dislike this game and do as much damage to it as they possibly can. The amount of people giving the game a straight 0/10 is not cool, at all.

What factors have contributed to the mixed critical reception of Death Stranding?

Death Stranding is the latest video game released by renowned developer Hideo Kojima, who is widely regarded as one of the most influential creators in the video game industry. However, despite the level of anticipation from fans and the high-profile names attached to the project, the game has received its share of backlash and negative reviews, especially on Metacritic. As a result, many players are questioning whether or not Death Stranding deserves the critical backlash it has been receiving.

There is no denying that Death Stranding is a unique game, full of cryptic storytelling, compelling characters, an impressive open world, and innovative gameplay mechanics. Unfortunately, some players have found the game’s length and pacing uninspired, leading to criticism of its overall polish.

First and foremost, it’s important to remember that video game development is incredibly challenging. The process involves countless hours of coding, testing, and creativity in order to craft a unique and engaging experience. Keeping this in mind, we should acknowledge that Death Stranding is an ambitious and complex game – as with any major project that involves creative risk-taking, there is always the possibility that the end product won’t be received as intended.

Nevertheless, the critical response to Death Stranding has been more than harsh. Like it or not, video games are a form of art, made by humans with passion and creativity. As such, it is disheartening to see the mockery that has been aimed at Death Stranding by some critics and fans.

As is most often the case, some fans have taken the displeasure they feel about the game’s critical reception to levels that are personal and harmful. Developers like Kojima put a huge amount of time and effort into crafting their games in ways that reflect their vision and values. It’s easy to forget how much hard work, creativity, and dedication goes into creating something as massive and detail-oriented as Death Stranding. By treating the game’s creators with such negativity, fans reduce video games as mere pawns to their whims and short-term satisfaction.

Ultimately, it’s up to each individual to decide whether or not he or she likes the game. However, it is not reasonable to discount the hard work, skill, and passion that went into its creation. It is disappointing to see such a brilliant, ambitious, and breathtakingly unique game being treated so harshly by the mainstream gaming community. Nevertheless, this too shall pass – as always, discussions about Death Stranding’s merits and flaws, no matter how critical, have the ability to inspire a new wave of creativity in upcoming games, thus perpetuating the vibrancy and novelty that sustains the industry.
