GHOST RECON BREAKPOINT Gameplay Walkthrough Part 1 BETA [1080p HD 60FPS PC] – No Commentary
Nomad and his Ghosts get stranded on Auroa the moment their choppers hit the ground.
YouTube channel MKIceAndFire ran the closed beta of Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint through a no-commentary walkthrough, capturing Part 1 in 1080p at 60 FPS on PC. The beta ran September 5 through September 8, 2019, giving players an early look at Ubisoft Paris’s follow-up to 2017’s Ghost Recon Wildlands ahead of its October 4 launch on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
- Operation Greenstone sends Nomad and his Ghosts to Auroa, a fictional South Pacific archipelago run by the tech conglomerate Skell Technology, but their helicopters are shot down by autonomous drone swarms on arrival.
- The Wolves, a rogue paramilitary faction made up of former Ghosts and led by Lt. Colonel Cole D. Walker (played by Jon Bernthal), have seized Skell’s drone assets and taken control of the island.
- Part 1 of the walkthrough covers the survival-focused opening: injury and stamina management, prone camouflage, stealth takedowns, gear score tracking, and solo movement across the crash sites as Nomad tries to regroup.
Operation Greenstone Goes Wrong Immediately
The beta opens with Nomad’s squad flying into Auroa to investigate why Skell Technology has gone dark. It doesn’t last long. Drone swarms — the same autonomous hardware Skell built the island’s defenses around — intercept the incoming Ghost helicopters and knock them out of the sky, scattering the team across the terrain before the mission even properly starts. From there, Nomad is on his own, working through wreckage and unfamiliar ground with no backup in sight.
That drone ambush is the hook Ubisoft built the whole beta pitch around, and the walkthrough shows exactly how disorienting it’s meant to feel — no HUD hand-holding, no squad chatter, just a downed operative figuring out where he landed.
Walker and the Wolves Take Over the Island
As Nomad pieces together what happened, it becomes clear Skell’s tech and Auroa itself now belong to the Wolves — a paramilitary outfit built from former US military Ghosts who’ve gone rogue. Their leader is Lt. Colonel Cole D. Walker, a former brother-in-arms turned antagonist, played and voiced by Jon Bernthal. That’s the twist driving the beta’s opening hours: the threat isn’t a foreign army, it’s soldiers who used to fight on Nomad’s side.

New Survival Systems on Display
Part 1 of the walkthrough spends most of its runtime on mechanics Wildlands never had. Nomad has to manage injuries and stamina in real time, use prone camouflage to physically blend into foliage and mud, and lean on tactical stealth takedowns to clear Wolves patrols without triggering an alarm. Gear score management also enters the picture early, forcing players to weigh loadout upgrades found in the field rather than relying on a fixed arsenal.
It’s a slower, more deliberate pace than the series’ usual open-world sprint, closer in spirit to the survival tension seen in games like Stranded Deep than to a straightforward military shooter. Fans looking for a similarly stealth-first approach to tactical combat might also recognize the DNA in Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, where solo infiltration and gear choices matter just as much as gunfights.
Solo Exploration Across Auroa’s Terrain
With his team scattered and no immediate way to call for backup, Nomad spends the back half of Part 1 navigating Auroa’s crash sites on foot, reading terrain and searching wreckage for supplies while staying off the Wolves’ radar. It’s a rugged, vertical stretch of island — the kind of setting Ubisoft has leaned on in its other open-world work, similar to the exploration hooks the studio pushed with its other upcoming titles around the same period.
Part 1 ends with Nomad still stranded and still hunting for the rest of his squad — which is exactly where MKIceAndFire’s next upload in the series is expected to pick up once the full beta footage continues.
